What is the Macmillan Cancer Support Weekly Lottery?

The Macmillan Cancer Support weekly lottery is a way to raise vital funds to support people living with or affected by cancer. It is a regular weekly draw that takes place every week and entries cost £1 per week. Every entry gives you the chance of winning one of almost 1,000 cash prizes, with the top prize of £1,000.

What does it cost to enter the Macmillan weekly lottery?

1 entry per week = £4.34 per month, 2 entries per week = £8.68 per month. The lottery is played weekly rather than monthly but the monthly ask level reflects the varying number of weekly draw days in each calendar month.

Where will my money go?

The money raised from the lottery helps Macmillan to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer. Right now, more than 3 million people are living with cancer in the UK. By 2030 this figure will rise to 4 million. We’re here to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, by providing physical, financial and emotional support. We'll do whatever it takes, no matter what a person's needs are, we will listen and support them however they need us to — big or small.

How do I know the lottery is fair and legal?

Macmillan Cancer Support is regulated by, and has a licence from, the Gambling Commission. Macmillan also complies with all Gambling Commission requirements, to ensure that the lottery is conducted fairly and transparently. The Gambling Commission is the regulatory body for casinos, bingo clubs, gaming machines, and the larger society lotteries in Great Britain.

Every £1 entry has an equal chance of winning and the winning numbers will be drawn by at our External Lottery Manager’s offices.

How old must I be to enter?

The minimum age to enter the Macmillan weekly lottery is 18.

What are the rules for the Macmillan weekly lottery?

How will I know if I’ve won?

The draw will take place every Friday (unless (i) the Friday is a bank holiday, in which case the draw takes place on the next working day, or (ii) there are exceptional circumstances). We will list the lucky winners on our winner’s page within 2 working days of the draw taking place.

Winners will be notified by post and will receive a cheque to the value of the prize won. See terms and conditions for full details.

Can I Gift Aid my lottery payments?

Unfortunately, we can’t claim Gift Aid on weekly lottery payments.

I’ve lost my lottery numbers. What should I do?

If you have lost your lottery game number(s), don’t worry as you’ll be automatically notified if you win. To retrieve your numbers, you can call our lottery helpline on 01524 753277, or email fundraising@macmillan.org.uk
